Apple is reportedly trimming down the production of new iPhone 5C model to 150,000 units per day compared to the earlier 300,000 units.
Citing reports from C Technology, several publishers reported that stocks for the new iPhone 5C, particularly its gold variant, are not moving as fast as the iPhone 5S.
Reports also indicate that the grey market price for the iPhone 5C in China currently stands between $489 and $539, while its official price is $726.
Earlier, Apple faced short supply for iPhone 5S upon being launched in the UK, and was listed on Apple’s website as being out of stock for 7-10 business days.
However, the UK stores had plenty of the cheaper 5C model during the period.
Launched in September 2013, the low-cost 5C is powered by the new iOS 7 and incorporates new 8mp iSight camera, 4in Retina display, A6 chip, and the 8mp iSight camera, in addition to more LTE bands and a new FaceTime HD camera.
Being offered in storage capacities of 16GB and 32GB respectively, the 5C is considered the more affordable option, coming in a range of colours.
