Accenture and NetApp, a provider of storage and data management offerings, have extended their existing partnership by signing two new technology agreements.

The first agreement is for the joint development and delivery of a customised set of offerings focused on data centre optimisation and virtualisation, cloud computing, and application optimisation.

The second is for NetApp’s Professional Services organisation to expand its implementation capabilities by leveraging on Accenture team providing consulting and integration services.

Under the agreements, Accenture and NetApp will develop and deliver offerings for data centre optimisation and transformation, cloud offering implementation, virtual desktop implementation, enterprise resource planning (ERP) application optimisation, and business application ROI enhancements via infrastructure virtualisation and efficiency.

Accenture global alliance channel lead Rockwell Bonecutter said they are seeing IT emerge from a support role to take centre stage as a major business driver for many organisations.

"Teaming with NetApp, we can help clients transition to a flexible and efficient shared IT infrastructure, setting the foundation to take advantage of cloud computing," Bonecutter said.
