Santa Cruz Operation Inc certainly thinks there’s a buck to be made from Linux and has made TurboLinux the first distribution for which it will offer consulting services under the plan it announced back at SCO Forum. It’s unlikely to be the last it supports either, though it won’t mention any names. While LinuxCare provides bug-tracking and other low-level monitoring for TurboLinux, SCO says its services are geared towards planning and costs analysis and it will create specific programs for TurboCluster Server.

SCO still thinks it can co-exist with Linux and claims 80% of its engineers have touched either Linux source or applications. Its Tarantella cross-platform application environment is up and running on Linux servers internally but SCO hasn’t decided if and when it will productize the code.
