India-based Satyam Computer Services has implemented SAP ECC 6.0 at Mazagon Dock, an Indian shipbuilder.

Satyam said that the enterprise service-oriented architecture-based enterprise resource planning system to be used at Mazagon Dock, the new system will provide managers with faster access information from across the entire organization, enabling Mazagon to speed planning, improve quality, reduce costs, and lower lead-time for its shipbuilding projects.

G A R Rao, director of finance at Mazagon Dock, said: Achieving system go-live is a major accomplishment, and I applaud Satyam’s success in rapidly assimilating the complex processes and procedures involved in the construction of a ship and mapping them to SAP functionalities.

Mazagon Dock is India’s public sector shipyard under the administrative control of the Ministry of Defence, Department of Defence Production and is primarily engaged in shipbuilding, ship repair, submarine construction and submarine refitting.
