SAP AG has signed a deal with the European airline computer reservation company Amadeus Global Travel Distribution SA which will result in SAP R/3 users being able to book flights and hotels from their desks. The facility will form part of a bigger system designed to bring the management of company’s travel purchasing closer to its financial processes. The system will be presented in a standard SAP format, with information delivered through all parts of the R/3 enterprise resource planning system. It will also advise companies on the best ways to spread spending between preferred suppliers to maximise investments. The system will restrict corporate travelers to book their travel through companies only used by their company.
