Santa Cruz Operation Inc has completed its executive search for a chief financial officer, bringing in 21-year NCR Corp veteran Alok Mohan as senior vice-president, operations and chief financial officer. Mohan, who has been consulting for Santa Cruz Operation over the last three months, is expected to free up chief executive Lars Turndal’s time so that he can concentrate on markets and products. Mohan will be in charge of finance and business planning and is expected to bring Santa Cruz Operation’s operations more into focus by controlling expenses and planning investment. He’s also expected to provide some much-needed tuning to Santa Cruz Operation’s strategic direction. At NCR Mohan was vice-president and general manager of the workstation products division, overseeing the unit over the period when it doubled revenues to $1,000m from $500m between 1990 and 1993.
