These new web TV services are being powered by the ROO Video Exchange platform, which provides VNU with the capability to aggregate content, distributing it through multiple channels and then dynamically inserting targeted advertising within the video as it streams to the user.
The partnership will enable VNU to deliver up-to-the-minute original video content created in-house by its editorial teams, as well as relevant third-party content such as news, business, science and technology categories from media suppliers such as Reuters.
VNU’s web TV services will be accessible to users through the homepages of the websites relating to each of the brands. ROO video players have been individually branded to reflect the look and feel of the websites. A bespoke mini player will be embedded on each website homepage, with full-screen capabilities also available.
In addition, advertisers will be able to purchase both pre-roll advertising and synchronized interactive media unit banners across all of VNU’s TV channels.
