Rolm, the joint telecommunications venture of IBM and Siemens, has launched a set of products for telecommunications networks. The Rolm 9751 computerised branch exchange now supports AT&T’s Accunet Switched 56 data service, using the T1 card available with Rolm’s Release 9005 software. The 9751 now also supports connections to the following AT&T voice services: Megacom, Megacom 800 and Software Defined Network. In addition, 9751 users that are customers of MCI’s 800 ESP with Dialled Number Identification Service capability now can receive Automatic Number Identification too. Enhancements to Rolm’s Phonemail service were also announced. CallDisplay, enables call centre managers to view momenttomoment network activity. It offers colour screens and graphics on an IBM PS/2 and is menudriven. Japanese and FrenchCanadian capabilities have been added to Rolm’s PhoneMail system in the shape of Callbridge. Outside the US, Japan and Canada represent the two largest countries where customers use the PhoneMail System. The CallBridge is a new offering that will enable users to implement advanced, integrated voice and data applications for inbound and outbound phone calls.
