NxOpinion, which is expected to enter the market in mid-2007, is currently being tested by Nizam’s Institute of Medical Science in Hyderabad, India.

More people die in a single hour in underdeveloped countries than die in one year in the United States, Robertson Technologies chief executive Joel Robertson told The Saginaw News. And 80% of them are treatable. They just need the right diagnosis.

Countries being targeted include India, Ghana, China, and those in the South American region.

The software is designed to help diagnose the 150 most common worldwide diseases. It works by asking several questions age, gender, location and symptoms. It then provides the patient’s diagnosis and recommends treatment.

The NxOpinion software would come installed on either a laptop or PC. If successful, it could reach the US market in 2008.
