Housing provider Riverside has selected device management software EveryWAN from Sparus Software to boost field-based workers using PDAs and smartphones.

Riverside hopes that the new platform will enable field workers to be more productive by removing the need to return devices to base if there are any problems as well as reducing the time required to fix problems in the field.

“It becomes increasingly important to ensure mobile employees are spending time in front of customers, rather than wrestling with IT issues,” said Debbie Anacoura, IT technical support manager at Riverside. “EveryWAN allows my team to see what’s really happening on the mobile device if employee reports a problem, remotely resolve the issue for them, and quickly get them back in action.”

The company will be rolling out EveryWAN on a range of Orange-supplied HTC devices running Windows Mobile.

Sparus Software COO, Didier Rochereau, said: “We are delighted to have been selected as the remote support platform for Riverside, and are pleased to see they take their end-user support as seriously as we do.”

EveryWAN is software that enables firms to manage and secure mobile devices. It is said to enhance mobile application performance and service continuity over wireless networks. Sparus Software has shipped over 15,000 EveryWAN licences.

Its clients include the French national railway (SNCF), Veolia Waters and Deloitte.

Riverside manages or owns over 50,000 homes across the UK and offers affordable housing to around 80,000 residents. As well as proving housing services the company also runs regeneration projects.
