Taking into consideration Communism’s tenets, Red Pad device has been developed in China ahead of their New Year.
It is a 9.7-inch, Android 3.2 tablet, which comes pre-loaded with a variety of pro-Communist Party apps.
The device is a ‘caring friend’ for old cadres, claims one advertisement for the Red Pad posted online.
The Red Pad comes with 16GB of flash storage, WiFi and 3G connection – along with touchscreen and A9 dual-core processor.
The Red Pad is priced at 9,999 yuan, and it is the software sold with the gadget that has increased its price, as it costs about 3,800 yuan to subscribe to exclusive digital content for one year.
Liu Xianri, legal representative for the company that produces the tablet, said the daily political updates and strategic decisions reported by the device are its USP.
Yang Hua, a member of the assessment group for the Shanghai municipal government procurement department, said that there are some provisions that will lead the Red Pad to success, as it undergoes an assessment by the concerned authorities.
The assessment will determine if the device is beneficial to the government authorities, as a recent regualtion bars goverment servants from possessing ‘luxuries.’
