Open source applications provider Red Hat has introduced the new version of its Enterprise Business Rules Management System (BRMS) application, JBoss Enterprise BRMS 5.3, to help organisations in building intelligent, integrated enterprises.

The new version includes integrated support for Business Rules Management, Business Process Management (BPM) and Complex Event Processing (CEP).

Boss Enterprise BRMS 5.3 also enables full automation of mission-critical procedures, policies and real-time detection, response to business events.

It is an open source application built on the Drools and jBPM communities to deliver intelligent business process and decision automation to large and small enterprises.

The new open source application integrates the JBoss Enterprise Application Platform 6 and JBoss Enterprise SOA Platform 5.3, adding business process automation, intelligent decision and event processing to applications running on those applications.

Red Hat’s new release introduces the new BPM capabilities of jBPM 5, a Java-based workflow engine that improves visibility and agility of business logic. jBPM 5 supports the lifecycle of the business process, from authoring through execution to monitoring and management.

JBoss Enterprise BRMS 5.3also supports the Business Process Modeling Notation 2.0 (BPMN2) standard. It features standards-based business process modelling, execution capabilities and integration with business rules via BPMN2 engine.
