Huntsville, Alabama-based Rastek Corp and Yamaha Systems Technology Division have completed their joint development of the GC1002 Advanced Page Processor: it is a one-chip raster image co-processor said to increase the performance of laser printer controllers by as much as 10 times while reducing component count by integrating much of the logic circuitry on current laser printer controller boards; samples and evaluation kits will be available in January 1992 with full production to begin in the first quarter of 1992; the GC1002 will cost around $30 and various development tools will be available at the same time as product samples.
