Primavera Systems Inc, the project management software provider, has forged an alliance with net broker PurchasePro.com which will enable construction companies to buy, sell and tender contracts online. The PrimeContract.com web forum, Primavera reckons, could jumpstart revenue to the tune of 200% in the long term. Primavera, headquartered in Bala Cynwyd outside Philadelphia, current records revenue around the $50m mark.

Joel Koppelman, president and CEO, estimates the worldwide market for construction purchasing to be around $600bn a year. Primavera’s web site will save contractors up to 3% of those fees. Having supplied software which enabled constructors to plan how much material they need, Primavera is now in the area where the materials are ordered and delivered, and can profit accordingly. Koppelman says that subscriptions for the service are likely to cost $300 per month.
