According to the company, the new customers, including the city of Raleigh, Milwaukee Public Schools and systems integrator Nimblus, have deployed the Plumtree Enterprise Web Suite for its collaborative and open platform.
State and local government organizations are facing the challenge of tight budgets and constituent demand to improve levels of service, said John Kunze, CEO at Plumtree Software. Using Plumtree’s portal platform helps enable state and local organizations to expand public access to information and services, improve internal information management and day-to-day efficiency, and collaborate effectively with private sector service partners or other government organizations.
Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) is using Plumtree’s portal technology to build a collaborative online community that connects administrators, teachers, students and parents. Kathy Onarheim, project director at MPS, said the portal allows teachers and administrators to access student grades and information, lesson plans, school budgets and extra-curricular activity.
Additionally, Nimblus will utilize the Enterprise Web Suite to build a public safety portal for first responders in King County, Washington, in the hope of enabling emergency management officials to share critical information, such as evacuation routes, floor plans and hospital locations for incident planning and response.
The portal also integrates with a geographic information system (GIS) that allows users to visually drill-down to information on any incident site. Finally, the portal will include a management dashboard to summarize and collaborate on incidents, helping to ensure better preparation and procedures for future security threats or emergency situations.
