For the second quarter it reported a net loss of $1m, compared with net income of $1.2m, on revenues of $17m, down from $22.5m in the same year-ago quarter. For the six month period ending June 30, it reported a net loss of $542,000, compared with net income of $1.4m, on revenues down at $34.2m, from $45.7m for the same period in 2002.
It is the 45% fall in license revenues that is causing most concern, with the company admitting it faced challenging conditions for corporate software sales during the second quarter.
Looking forward, the San Francisco, California-based company is currently projecting third quarter 2003 revenue to be between $17m and $17.5m, and a net loss of between $0.04 and $0.03 per share. It still has $67m in cash, equivalents and short-term investments, and no long-term debt.
