Playboy Enterprises Inc is such a shadow of its former self that it has to try anything that offers itself to try to increase the market for the flagship magazine, but we think it could be going too far this time: the company reckons that there is an army of tecchies out there who are so wrapped up in their Apple Macintoshes that they never normally come up for air long enough to be reached by pleasures and temptations of ordinary life, and has put together Playboy Online – available free to Apple Mac users on The Source, Usenet and Delphi; the digest includes three cartoons, an abridged version of the Playboy Interview, the Dear Playboy feature, Playboy Advisor, and, yes, two black-and-white shots of Playmate Kymberley Paige – but is it wise to expose all those nerds to such an enticement without the time-honoured security of the steel staple securely clamped to her navel?
