By integrating the two devices at the network gateway, enterprise email administrators can set up policies on the IronPort C-Series boxes describing which emails need to be encrypted, decrypted, or digitally signed.
Because only mail that needs to be acted upon is routed to the PGP Universal device, the mail infrastructure can support a bigger load and more throughput, according to IronPort’s VP of technology Craig Taylor.
PGP Universal is PGP Corp’s effort to make it easier to deploy a public key infrastructure in enterprises by centralizing key management and policy enforcement. IronPort C-Series is a security gateway that filters spam and viruses.
