Erik Hoogerhuis joined the Orlando, Florida-based company this week to ramp up strategic alliances with key partners.
Founded in 2002, Pentaho continues to attract executives from commercial software vendors. Its management is made up from executives from SAS Institute, Hyperion Solutions (now part of Oracle), Cognos and Business Objects.
Pentaho is building up a comprehensive BI suite that covers reporting, OLAP analysis, dashboards, data integration and data mining. It is the primary sponsor and owner of several open source projects like JFreeReport, Kettle, Mondrian and Weka.
Earlier this month the company updated its Mondrian OLAP software with increased analytic scalability.
