Hong Kong’s first wireless broadband package includes 18 months of the fast connectivity of PCCW’s NETVIGATOR broadband service, a Nokia MW1122 Broadband Wireless Gateway, and an IBM ThinkPad wireless-equipped laptop computer with an Intel Pentium III 750 Mhz processor.

The special promotion is the second phase of a high-performance computer-broadband offering spearheaded by PCCW and Intel. On July 4, the companies offered the first hassle-free integrated hardware and software connectivity PC package to Hong Kong consumers.

The new wireless package features an advanced Nokia Gateway that provides NETVIGATOR clients with multi-directional Internet connectivity — even between floors — within a radius of 50 meters. Clients are freed from clumsy wires and can access the Internet effortlessly and efficiently through their PCs, laptops, or PDAs.

PCCW customers can purchase the hassle-free integrated hardware and software connectivity notebook package, and 18 months of NETVIGATOR unlimited hours broadband service for as little as $1098 a month under an installment plan.

Those opting for the 18 month NETVIGATOR service commitment will have an amount equivalent to two months of service and start-up charges of their NETVIGATOR service deducted from the in-store cost of the computer, amounting to a savings of $1126. NETVIGATOR provides a dedicated bandwidth, secure and stable connectivity as well as the broadest international bandwidth in Hong Kong.

Wireless broadband means ultimate freedom, said Lawrence Tsong, director of PCCW’s Marketing and Business Sales. The PCCW wireless broadband package opens a world of ways and possibilities to tap the power of the Internet, whether you are on-the-go at the office, or at home relaxing on the couch.

Since April, PCCW has been providing travelers with wireless broadband Internet access at Hong Kong’s International Airport, in conjunction with the Airport Authority.
