Panasonic, a manufacturer of durable, reliable Panasonic Toughbook mobile computers, has introduced a new Toughbook Permanent Display Removable Computer (PDRC), which combines a vehicle-mounted display and full-functioning keyboard for heightened accessibility inside public safety vehicles.
The company said that the new PDRC comes with upgrades, including a brighter touchscreen display, improved user visibility and a reduction in connection cables for simplified installation process.
According to Panasonic, the upgraded PDRC comes with a red backlit programmable emergency key on the screen and keyboard; and works with other Toughbook mobile computers such as the Toughbook U1, H1 Field, 19 and 31.
The new PDRC supports Windows XP/Vista/7, comes with 12.1" XGA sunlight-viewable LCD display with 40% brighter than the previous Toughbook PDRC; adds easy-to-access USB ports; and includes a durable backlit keyboard.
Dave Poulin, senior business development manager for Panasonic, said: "The improved Toughbook PDRC is the perfect tool for departments seeking total flexibility in their in-vehicle computing solution.
"With its proven durability, seamless integration and improved ease-of-use, the new PDRC helps first responders work faster and smarter inside their vehicles while also benefitting from the mobility of connected Toughbook devices."
