The financial details surrounding the deal have not been publicly disclosed but IBM officials have said that the deal will include cross-licensing, marketing and joint development activities.
Palm and IBM unveil mobile applications alliance
Palm and IBM are to team up in order to co-develop mobile applications for business users. The alliance will mean functions such as secure email and instant messaging will now be made available for Palm's handheld computing devices. Palm is hoping the alliance will enable the company to compete more effectively with Microsoft for corporate customers.
