Oracle Corp will use Singapore as its global testbed for a new range of internet-based products and services before rolling them out to the rest of the world, according to senior vice president of marketing Mark Jarvis. Quoted in the Singapore Business Times, Jarvis said the island Republic has the infrastructure which is lacking in most other countries in the form of a highly-wired economy with both companies and the government willing to test out new technologies. The Singapore government has the vision and wants to kick-start the internet economy, he said. We are working with the government on a number of projects, and with innovative companies like AMO (Advanced Manufacturing Online) who have developed unique supply-chain solutions for electronic manufacturing.
