In its response to Informix Corp’s lawsuit, Oracle Corp asserts that it has absolutely no interest in Informix trade secrets and that it has specifically advised the departing Informix employees not to bring or disclose proprietary Informix information to Oracle and that all Oracle employees promise in writing when joining the company to bring no trade secrets of their former employers. It asserts that it has absolutely no interest in Informix technology and that the 11 employees in question, while at Informix, were working on parallel database and replication technology in an attempt to catch up to Oracle’s multi-year lead in these areas. It says that the team’s mission will be to lead a new Oracle Portland Development Center focused on network computing software advances.
