The new Oracle Identity and Access Management Suite comprises products picked up with the acquisitions this year of Oblix, Thor Technologies and OctetString. Each retains partial branding from its old owner, and can be bought separately if desired.
From Oblix, acquired back in March, the key access management components come under the COREid brand, and provide web single sign-on, password administration and cross-domain federated identity management.
OctetString and Thor were acquired together in November. Thor was one of the leading privately held providers of identity provisioning software under the Xellerate brand, which Oracle is keeping, while OctetString developed meta-directory software.
Given the recent nature of the acquisitions, it’s quite likely that Oracle has had time for the minimum of integration work. However, Thor and Oblix already had a pretty tight integration partnership prior to their respective buyouts.
