Opus Systems Inc, Cupertino, California is going after the ocean of MS-DOS personal computers out there, with a Sparc add-in board that will let them run SunOs and MS-DOS applications simultaneously. The board takes up a single AT slot and is claimed to be 100% compatible with the Sparc Compliance Definition 1.0, supports SBus peripherals and SunView on standard personal computer monitors and operates in a Windows 3.0 environment. It’s available immediately, but pricing for it starts at a hefty $6.500. Separately, Opus said it had won $3.7m in venture capital financing from Glenwood Management, OSCCO Ventures and Merrill Pickard Anderson Eyre, to fuel expansion.
