NXP Semiconductors has unveiled CGVxpress, an important extension to its high speed data converter technology portfolio and the next generation of the CGV high speed serial interface announced in 2009.
The newly unveiled CGVxpress will be used in future NXP ADC and DAC product families, said the company.
CGVxpress (Convertisseur Grande Vitesse or High Speed Converter) interface technology is ideal for: wireless infrastructure, industrial, scientific, medical, and aerospace and defense applications, where high bandwidth, sample accurate lane synchronization and deterministic latency are critically technical requirements.
The CGVxpress feature set also includes support for Multi-Device Synchronization (MDS). MDS solves system synchronization and latency challenges in many digital communications system applications, including LTE and LTE-Advanced MIMO radio base stations.
NXP Semiconductors product line general manager for high speed converters Maury Wood said the technology and performance enhancements enabled by CGVxpress will drive this serial interface into ubiquitous adoption by data acquisition system engineers worldwide.
The CGV interface currently appears on several products in NXP’s high speed ADC and DAC product line — including the ADC1413D and DA1408D product families.
