Numerex Corporation, a provider of M2M (machine-to-machine) wireless communication solutions, launched a new solution, FastTrack, which is a hosted, turn-key, remote monitoring solution for integrators, enterprises, and end users.
FastTrack is an end-to-end solution targeted at large and small-scale remote monitoring and control applications. The solution wirelessly monitors and controls remote processes, events, conditions, and devices. The key components of FastTrack include the AnyNet GSM-based wireless device, Numerex’s wireless M2M network, and hosted web-based application.
AnyNET GSM wireless device provides users with multiple I/Os and a serial interface, and supports a variety of industrial and commercially sensors. It enables customers to receive field-ready device which communicates with multiple web services, including data presentation, account and unit management, billing, and support services.
FastTrack utilizes SMSXpress, a product of Numerex networks, to deliver real time data between remote devices and facilities.
FastTrack provides wireless M2M communication services to multiple industries, including, highway and transportation, utilities, SCADA and agriculture, and security. It is also used in monitoring situations such as pipeline temperature sensors, pressure measuring points, flow monitoring, discrete level monitoring, and pulse generating sensors. FastTrack also enable users to remotely receive selected data and alarms on web or email enabled device and through customizable web service.
With FastTrack, Numerex is answering the call to bring reliable, cost- effective M2M capabilities to organizations of all sizes and across all industries to help them more effectively manage operations, said Chuck Horne senior vice president marketing at Numerex. Because it is powered by Numerex’s own infrastructure, network, and supported by our trained experts, FastTrack enables organizations and industries that have previously seen M2M as ‘too complex’ or ‘too costly’ to get up and running quickly and for literally pennies per day.
Numerex also plans to integrate its satellite services, OrbitOne with FastTrack. This will enable its users to deploy both GSM and satellite devices and control and monitor both through a single user interface. Numerex acquired Orbit One Communications, a provider of satellite data products and services to government agencies and emergency services markets, in August 2007.
Numerex also provides network management services to assist customers in deployment efforts, private labels for VARs, custom billing services, and technical and end-user support.
On 23 October 2007, Numerex released the OrbitOne SX1 solution, a satellite-based asset monitoring and tracking technology. It operates on Globalstar’s Low Earth Orbit (LEO) simplex satellite data network, the OrbitOne SX1, and provides GPS visibility, event monitoring, and asset management data.
