Silicon Graphics Inc has signed an OEM agreement with nStor Corporation Inc for fibre channel and Ultra 2 RAID storage systems, which SGI will use with its NT-based visual workstations. The nStor unit, a subsidiary of nStor Technologies Inc, has designed the eight bay tower or rack-mounted units to fit in with SGI’s own futuristic design. Lake Mary, Florida-based nStor, known as Connor Storage Systems Inc before a management buyout in 1996 from Seagate Technologies Inc, last year acquired Borg Adaptive Technologies Inc for its Adaptive RAID technology, and sold off all its other businesses to concentrate on storage.
