Having not yet digested On-Line Software International Inc, Garden City, New York-based Computer Associates International Inc is already hungry again and last night announced that it had agreed in principle to acquire yet another venerable software house, Pansophic Systems Inc, Lisle, Illinois for $16.15 a share cash, adding another $230m in annual revenue to its total. It has agreed that if it has not obtained a financing commitment by 5pm on Friday, it will not seek to acquire Pansophic for less than $16.15 a share, begin a proxy contest or take similar action. Pansophic shares were at $11.50 ahead of the announcement.
