Decidedly busy just now, MCI Communications Corp yesterday teamed with Intel Corp to develop and market a range of Internet products and services targeted at businesses, with the first product to be networkMCI WebMaker, yet another set of tools for creating and managing Web sites on the Internet. NetworkMCI WebMaker is available immediately at $10,000 and will be marketed by MCI. The companies plan to move on to develop enhanced Internet multimedia capabilities and services, high-end intranet and remote network access offerings with guaranteed bandwidth. It’s been eight months since MCI and Intel said they would deliver a desktop video and audio conferencing service combining networkMCI and Intel’s ProShare (CI No. 2,779) and it will probably be seven more before it appears. Intel will sell the product from early 1997, MCI will support it. The two are testing their Internet products with 100 users across three US cities. It betas next quarter.
