Camberley, Surrey-based Computer Marketing Plc has exclusive UK distribution rights for Digital Communications Associates Inc’s 10-Net local area network products, acquired by the Alpharetta, Georgia company when it bought Fox Research Imc. The products are based on 10-Net Plus, which Computer Marketing describes is a peer-to-peer networking environment that includes Digital Communications’ electronic mail system, Network Courier; it doesn’t alter the MS-DOS user interface or require dedicated servers. Digital Communications sees the deal as part of a long term strategic shift to local area networks, from its micro-to mainframe link business – Computer Marketing has long been the UK distributor of the Irma 3270 communications boards with which the Georgian made its name. With the new product line, it will focus its efforts on small to medium size departments and businesses, as well as professional groups and go after 1,500 dealers.
