Novell Inc has souped up its Internet/Intranet offering with a suite of new products for NetWare users as it tries to boost its image on the corporate intranet scene. At the publishing suite’s core is a new 2.5 release of the NetWare Web Server for use on NetWare 4.1 server. The suite includes previously unavailable support for Java plus the ability to browse the all- important NetWare Directory Services. 2.5 also includes an IP/IPX translator meaning users will no longer need to use products from third parties such Firefox, Cisco or Quarterdeck. Novell will ship the $2,500 suite in June. Novell has also licensed Frontier Technologies Corp’s SuperNFS Client product allowing NetWare users to access Unix file and print services across intranets.
