Analysts expect Microsoft Corp to launch a new version of its Basic programming language next week that works with its Windows graphical user interface: Reuter Financial News Service predicts that Bill Gates will launch the new version on the first anniversary of Microsoft’s Windows 3.0.; Goldman Sachs & Co says that the Window-based Basic and Microsoft’s Quick C will boost Microsoft’s language revenue, currently about $90 million a year, by between 30% and 50%; the visual Basic package is expected to contain an underlying scripting language that may be used in subsequent applications program; also, Microsoft is expected to introduce a database product late this year that could use the new graphic Basic as an underlying language.
