Southampton-based Neural Computer Sciences Ltd has co-developed an interface, NTLink, to connect its Windows-based simulator NeuDesk to the NT5000 box from Petersfield, Hampshire-based Neural Technologies Ltd. This will enable users to develop neural applications on their personal computers under Windows, and then download them to the NT5000 system, a stand-alone box that collects data from real world analogue and digital devices like microphones, cameras and other industrial sensors. The box, which measures around 1′ square by 3 high can then display pre-programmed messages on its small LCD screen. The two companies reckon this combination will appeal to developers of process control systems using real-time monitoring. NT Link is available as a UKP100 upgrade for current NT5000 and NeuDesk applications. Neudesk software for 80386SX personal computers and up is UKP385, the NT5000 machine begins at UKP2,500.
