Ann Arbor, Michigan-based Network Express Inc, which specialises in Integrated Services Digital Network products, is now shipping new versions of its NE ISDN InterHub, designed to give geographically dispersed users access to central network resources via ISDN, and the NE ISDN Router, which is designed to provide ISDN-based bridging and routing between local area networks. Enhancements with version 5.0 of the InterHub are said to include support for the Stacker LZS Compression format, which is claimed to give compression rates of up to 7:1; and support for the Trivial File Transfer Protocol, Telnet and Dynamic Management protocols. Also new is the ability to aggregate multiple ISDN channels using the Multilink Protocol, and to transmit bridged Ethernet using the Bridging Control Protocol, says the company. Finally, InterHub’s security has been enhanced through support for the Radius and TACACS standards. The NE InterHub is priced from $5,900 for a four-line, eight-connection ISDN Basic Rate system, up to $19,900 for a two-line, 46-connection ISDN Primary Rate system. Version 3.0 of Network Express’s NE ISDN Router is said to add support for Dynamic Management (designed to enable network managers to make configuration changes without interrupting the network); Internet Packet Exchange spoofing; and support for Frame Relay wide area network connections. Prices for the NE ISDN Router are to range from $6,500 for a one-line, two connection ISDN Basic Rate system, to $22,100 for a one-line, 23 connection ISDN Primary Rate system.
