The integrated internal security applications provider NetClarity has released its NACsmart for switches to capitalise on existing infrastructure to solve security challenges.
NACsmart provides safer non-SNMP and non-802.1x command and control interfaces to all existing managed switches.
It is now available for the entire family of NACwall appliances, including the Nano-25, the smallest internal security appliance.
The new release has been integrated with Cisco, Extreme Networks, Juniper, 3Com, HP and many others. This represents the deployment of various managed switches without the need to upgrade to the high-risk and hackable 802.1x protocol.
NACsmart provides a wizard-based setup for managed switch integration, automatic detection and quarantine of rogue devices and dynamic VLAN reconfiguration in real-time.
It also offers rogue and MAC-spoofer detection, switch-based port blocking and real-time alerting on switch port and VLAN block and quarantine events.
NetClarity founder & CTO Gary S. Miliefsky said the agentless Next Generation Network Access Control (NAC) application has been improved by its new NACsmart technology for nearly instant and deep integration with various switch vendors.
"This provides instant network access control functionality without the need to use risky protocols like SNMP v2.0c or 802.1x for solving the BYOD and MDM dilemmas facing most organizations today," Miliefsky said.
