Multiwave Innovation Inc, Campbell, California has developed MovieWave Station, a new compact disk player that accommodates six formats, including audio compact disk, Video CD, CD-I full-motion video, Karaoke CD, CD+G and Kodak Photo CD. It is equipped with all the controls required to make use of each format and features built-in surround sound. For karaoke entertainment, it has two microphone inputs, each with volume control, microphone echo, a 17-stage key shift, surround sound, and a voice cancel function that removes the vocal track from a compact disk. As a Video CD player, it provides full-motion MPEG ISO11172 video decompression and MPEG ISO11172 layer II audio decompression. When playing Eastman Kodak Co Photo CDs, the player supports selective or sequential viewing of images, and via the remote provides selection, rotation and zoom functions. To accommodate video playback, the player provides a composite video output (NTSC and PAL) through RCA phono jacks. MovieWave Station will be shipping in the first quarter at $400.
