Mozilla has introduced its new version of its mobile browser for Android smartphones and tablets with HTML 5 support and improved speed.
The Firefox for Android browser comes with a redesigned user interface, enhanced tabbed browsing, tweaks to accelerate browsing while users can search right from the address bar.
Mozilla has also developed Eideticker, that measures the actual user Web experience and they built Firefox for Android to it, yielding an experience that is two times faster than the stock browser.
Firefox for Android comes with a personalised start page that saves user time getting where he want to go on the Web. It also supports Flash, enabling users to watch videos, play games and interact with Web content on Android phone.
The new release includes an Awesome Screen powered by Firefox Sync delivers all user browsing history, bookmarks, passwords and form data to the Android phone. It delivers user security with features like Do Not Track, Master Password, HTTP Strict Transport Security and more.
Mozilla has also optimised user favorite features like tabbed browsing, Firefox Sync and Firefox Add-ons to deliver enhanced mobile browsing experience.
Firefox for Android features new HTML5 capabilities that will enable developers to create enhanced Web apps and websites based on HTML5, JavaScript, CSS and other open Web standards.
Earlier version of Android Firefox browser was compatible with devices running Android 2.1 and above while the new version will be compatible only on smartphones running Android 2.2 and above versions.
