UK based telephone answering service Moneypenny has launched the new Penelope for small business enterprises (SMEs), which claims to transform the way calls are handled.
Penelope, which places advanced call routing functions, is an entire phone system as well as a receptionist, and includes a Moneypenny PA that takes calls as a real person in case of unavailability of receptionist.
The system uses an app, which allows users to decide where and how their calls ring, and allows businesses to improve their control over handling office calls.
Moneypenny and Penelope co-founder and director Ed Reeves said that Penelope is the direct result of customer feedback.
"There are more than 3.6 million micro businesses in the UK who are struggling to stay in control of their calls, but feel that they cannot afford a good quality receptionist or answering service," Reeves said.
"Penelope meets this need, with an easy to use app that provides on-the-go support, when and where they need it the most."
The voice recognition technology incorporated into the system allows listening to the received caller request, matches it against the available employees and directs the call to the exact person.
According to the firm, Penelope can be deployed by any businesses either by keeping their existing number, or selecting a new one from any region within the UK.
"All the effort involved in getting this product live has been totally eclipsed by its success, its popularity and the feedback from customers," Reeves added.
"Now they can work smarter, gain business and reduce costs."
