The gateway, which works over mmO2’s existing 2G networks and on standard 2G handsets, should help Genie to boost data revenues (and therefore operators’ grail of average revenue per user), even without new infrastructure.
It’s also a welcome win for SMS pioneer Logica, which has recently been losing SMS solutions market share to established network infrastructure players.
