Microsoft is targeting the beta release at the subjects of computer science, electrical engineering and physics, and the company is working with multiple organizations to bring new subjects online in the near future.
According to the company, Windows Live Academic Search will offer peer-reviewed content from leading scholarly societies such as the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, the Association for Computing Machinery and leading publishers Elsevier and John Wiley & Sons.
The beta service will be available in the US, UK, Germany, Italy, Spain, Japan, and Australia. The company said it intends to add new markets and content throughout the beta period.
