Micron Technology has registered flat net sales of $2.3bn for the second quarter of fiscal 2011.
The company posted an operating income of $178m for the second quarter, compared to operating income of $415m for the same period last year.
The company’s gross margin decreased from $642m in the second quarter of fiscal 2010 to $435m in the second quarter of fiscal 2011.
Net income attributable to Micron was $72m for the quarter ended 3 March 2011, compared to net income of $365m for the same period last year.
Basic earnings per share were $0.07 compared to $0.43 for the same quarter last year.
For the quarter, revenues from sales of DRAM products decreased 6% compared to first quarter of fiscal 2011, due to 23% decrease in average selling prices largely offset by an increase in volume.
Revenue from sales of NAND Flash products was 8% higher in the second quarter of fiscal 2011 compared to the first quarter of fiscal 2011 due to an increase in volume partially offset by a 4% decrease in average selling prices.
