Marshfield Clinic is teaming up with Preferred Medical Marketing Corporation (PMMC) to improve its understanding of the reimbursement terms associated with its payer contracts, enhance its contract negotiation process and monitor payer compliance.
PMMC assists medical groups by calculating the expected reimbursement per the payer’s contract when the bill is generated. PMMC provides this support through its proprietary contract management system, Physician Pro, and its team of contract analysts.
The analysts import the reimbursement terms into the system, where the client-specific rates, terms and pricing policies are maintained to ensure the claim is initially priced and later paid correctly. PMMC says that, by fully defining each payer’s contractual terms in Physician Pro, Marshfield Clinic will be able to identify reimbursement variances. These variances can be sorted to key performance indicator groups for process improvement strategies or collection of underpayments.
Greg Kay, SVP of PMMC, claims, Physician Pro assists groups such as Marshfield Clinic to proactively evaluate the performance of their existing contracts, and based on the analysis of that data; improve their contractual terms during future negotiations.
Physician PRO utilizes Microsoft .Net and Microsoft SQL Server as its technology and database platform. It can be deployed as a web-based solution or locally installed and operated.
