Software distribution and management firm Marimba Inc will Monday formally launch its EMEA office, based in Bracknell, UK, in the first stage of its expansion strategy. Both its Castanet 4.0 software deployment and management platform and DocService document management application will be available immediately.
It is the company’s first non-US operation, although the rest of the world, particularly Asia-Pacific, was responsible for around 10% of Marimba’s revenues last year, through its US office and resellers in Korea and Japan. VP of marketing Jacqueline Ross said she expected EMEA and Asia Pacific to grow to around 30% of the company’s revenue in a couple of years. The firm will look for high-end systems integrators to act as extra channels in Europe, although a direct sales force will form the main channel. The UK operation will be headed by managing director Keith Schroeder.
