Deutsche Bahn AG has now reached a final agreement for Mannesmann AG to take over its DBKom telecommunications unit. The railway gave no financial details for the deal but said the agreement would be legally finalized in two to three weeks. The 49.8 % stake is reported to have cost it $670m. Mannesmann has an option to increase its stake in DBKom to 74.9% over the next three years; Deutsche Bahn keeps 25.1%. Mannesmann AG will also merge its Communications Network International GmbH corporate telecommunications unit with DBKom GmbH in the next few months. AT&T Corp and Unisource NV also have stakes in Communications Network International.
