Macromedia gets access to AOL’s AIM Network

Macromedia Inc [MACR] is to offer users of its new Flash-based application development tool, Central, access to the AOL Instant Messenger and ICQ networks, under a deal with America Online Inc [AOLA].

Central will come with an SDK that will let them create applications that have AIM presence built in. Another part of the deal will see Macromedia tools advertised on the AIM client.
