Lotus Development Corp will announce further plans for the Domino server on Monday, reinforcing its push towards web-enabled applications. Lotus Enterprise Integrator 3.0 (LEI) is the new name for the Lotus NotesPump product. NotesPump, a middleware product, connects to and transfer information between a Domino server and back-end ERP systems such as JD Edwards, SAP, Oracle and PeopleSoft applications.

LEI 3.0 has uses multithreading support for enhanced data transfer, a new user interface designed to make navigation and administration easier, and metaconnectors that enable communications between Domino and back-end systems, making it easier to log in to enterprise information resources and monitor data flow.

This lets Lotus users connect back-end systems and front-end processors with sales forces out on the road or customers on the web, said Bart Lautenbach, group manager of web applications for Lotus. He claimed other application servers don’t have this functionality today.

Pricing for LEI, including selected new Domino Connectors: Domino Directory Services, Novell Directory Services, and LDAP as well as previously released Connectors for RDBMS, File and Text systems remains at $7,995. Domino Connectors for SAP R/3, JD Edwards One World, PeopleSoft and Oracle Applications and BEA Tuxedo will be priced individually and sold separately at additional cost.
