Loral Corp – a defence electronics specialist, right? Well yes, but the New York company doesn’t want to get left behind in in the stampede for ringside places in the coming battle for the hearts and minds of consumers in the all-singing, all dancing fun-and-games multimedia market of the future: the company’s Cambridge, Massachusetts-based Loral Advanced Distributed Simulation has formed a long-term partnership with Entertainment Systems Corp to develop and distribute real-time interactive simulation games: initially the partnership will develop a series of games featuring interactive three-dimensional graphics systems similar to the ones used by the government in advanced training simulators – well you always new the professional flight simulator was the ultimate video game; Loral says its own games will capture the real-time environment of military simulation while dramatically increasing the number of player interactions and delivering high-fidelity graphics.
