The integration has been branded by LogiXML as GIS Mapping and allows users of its Logi8 BI system to overlay geographic dimensions, like city, state and zip code, across BI data sets and pull up the visualizations in reports and dashboards.

LogiXML also said that the Google Maps integration also afforded users with an ability to geo-code addresses by showing longitude/latitude locations using graphical markers on a map.

The Logi8 connection to Google Maps also allows users to plot addresses on a map and include report information or charts within a bubble depiction that Logi8 can drill down into.

It’s been a busy couple of months for McLean, Virginia-based LogiXML. Last month the company jacked up the core reporting and OLAP capabilities in its Logi8 BI platform and provided better visualization and parameterization controls for reports. It also unveiled new subscription-based pricing for its BI software – with an entry-level pricing starting at $15,000 per year for a single Logi8 processor and $30,000 per year for multiple processors.

Unlike other BI tools, LogiXML said its BI platform has been designed from the ground-up to be 100% Web based built using modern .NET, XML, SOAP and Ajax technologies. Company officials claims that the combination of its pure Web architecture and its low-price lets companies quickly roll-out BI to large numbers of users more cost effectively than traditional tools like Business Objects and Cognos.
